If you are planning to do a full vacation package (hotel, dining plan, tickets, etc.) there are two routes you can use for booking. A $200 deposit is required when booking. Final payment is not due until 30 days before your arrival.
Anyone who is in the military has the ability to utilize the Shades of Green Resort if they meet the following requirements. Members on Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Cadets of Armed Forces Academies. In addition, retired from active duty, Reserves, and National Guard with or without pay along with Honorably discharged veterans with 100 percent Service-connected disability are also eligible to stay here.
Discounted park tickets are available for the Walt Disney World parks though the "Attraction Tickets" dropdown menu.
Room only reservations can be made through our room block with Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. Port Orleans-Riverside is at a rate of $246.38 (sleeps 5) and Pop Century is for $181.13 (sleeps 4). Please note the Polynesian is not listed on there, but if you are interested in a room there please let us know and we can get additional rooms at that resort. Since it is the most expensive we assumed most people would not plan to stay there.
You can also contact our friend Maure' Harthan with Part of That World Vacations for room-only reservations at Maure@partofthatworld.com or call 814-920-3449. Her services are also free since she is an authorized Disney Vacation Planner.
The day of the Vow Renewal guests will be picked up from Port Orleans-Riverside, Pop Century and the Polynesian. If you are not staying at one of these resorts, you will need to drive to one of these at a designated time or take the Minnie Van Service. Since the ceremony is inside the park before it opens to the public, no one is allowed to drive there directly.
The pizza and appetizers are on us as we join in for a fun night of bowling. The cost for bowling is approximately $15 per person including shoe rental. Splitsville is a retro bowling alley located in Disney Springs with easy access to shopping. Guests staying at Port Orleans-Riverside can travel here by boat. All other guests can get to Disney Springs by bus.
We are going to have a group dinner the night before the vow renewal. Our plan is to have dinner at the Wave restaurant inside the Contemporary. They have amazing steaks and a lot of farm to table foods. We are spending the day at Epcot and the resort offers easy access by monorail from Epcot or the Magic Kingdom.
Join the fun in a photo scavenger hunt around the park. The festivities will take approximately 1.5 hours and a prize will be given to the team that wins. Recommended team size 3-5 players.
We will be having a group dinner after the Scavenger Hunt at the Magic Kingdom. We will be at Crystal Palace inside the Magic Kingdom, so a ticket is required in order to access the restaurant. Crystal Palace features the Winnie the Pooh characters.
O'hanas is our favorite restaurant and a must-visit for us on every trip. They cook shrimp, chicken and steak on open grills in the center of the restaurant. The meal is served family-style and we love it all from the appetizers to the bananas foster bread pudding dessert. Here is a link to the full menu.
We will be meeting for a late lunch/early dinner to allow for the most character interaction at this restaurant inside the park. We booked the package with special seating for the Rivers of Light nightime show. This means we will have reserved seating for the show that starts at 8:45 p.m. Our plan will be to check out Pandora, the World of Avatar that day too. Pandora opened in May 2017 and has two new attractions. Tusker House offers a buffet menu and features character interactions with Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy.
On our last day at Disney we will be having lunch at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Their menu features meals like mom would make - meatloaf, fried chicken and much more set in a 1950s kitchen motif. Join us for a hearty lunch while checking out Star Wars and previews of Toy Story Land.
We have been blessed to have enjoyed a wide array of experiences during our first ten years of marriage. From working on projects in the community to traveling together, we are true partners in life.
We were married on March 3, 2008 and were blessed to have 48 of our closest friends and family celebrate with us. The week's festivities included a ladies tea, private hayride, Detroit Tigers Spring Training game along with group dinners.
Our ceremony took place at the American Adventure Rotunda inside Epcot. Our reception was held at the Living Seas Salon and a dessert party was in France for the Illuminations fireworks show.
FastPass+ Reservations for rides, shows and attractions can be made 60 days in advance of arrival for anyone staying on Disney property. This date will vary depending on your arrival. Some hot-ticket items like Frozen Ever After at Epcot or Pandora's Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom will require you make a reservation at exactly 60 days out. Use this calculator to determine the day you can book a reservation.
Let us know if you are going to be attending the festivities by Halloween. We will be going down to Disney World in mid-November to finalize plans and need a count by this deadline.
Disney dining reservations are open 180 days before arrival. Anyone participating in one of the group dinners needs to let us know by this date if you plan to participate. See the "Events" page for more information. If you are planning to join us for one of these events make sure to sign up for "My Disney Experience" and share your email connected to your account with Vanessa. She can then add you and your party to these dining reservations.
Vanessa and Kris launch their personal wedsite at krisandvanessa.wedsite.com.
Welcome to our wedsite. We created this space as a special way for friends and family to stay up to date about our vow renewal in March 2018. We are excited to have a lot of familiar faces join us at the celebration along with new faces who will be celebrating with us for the first time.
It will be amazing to celebrate ten years together with our closest loved ones. We hope you enjoy browsing these pages for photos and stories about us over the last decade. And while you are here, please sign our guestbook!
